Brighter Horizon Psychology was established by Frank Van de Mortel (B Arts(Hons) Assoc MAPS | PSY 0001410015) to meet the needs of people living with psychological injury/illness.  We are passionate about ensuring you receive the most appropriate psychological treatment for your circumstances. This includes many different options such as Cognitive Behaviour (CBT) Therapy, Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Prolonged Exposure Therapy (PE), Neuropsychotherapy and Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR).

Frank is a Psychologist, registered with Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA PSY0001410015, NSW WorkCover (11836), Vic Workcover and Medicare to provide “Focused Psychological Services”.

Aimee Norrish

Aimee is a fully Registered Psychologist who has worked across a range of clinical and forensic settings over the last 10 years. Aimee has a particular interest in and is experienced in working with first responders and emergency workers. Aimee dedicates much of her time and ongoing professional development to the treatment of frontline emergency service personnel.

Aimee supports clients across a range of areas including depression, anxiety, adjustment disorders, stress, trauma, grief, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), critical incident traumas, mood disorders, and emotional dysregulation.

Aimee utilises a variety of evidenced-based treatment models, such as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Prolonged Exposure Therapy (PE), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR). Aimee is currently undertaking advanced training in EMDR.

Aimee is registered to provide services through Medicare, the NDIS and Work Cover. Aimee is currently completing training to become a Board-approved supervisor for provisional Psychologists.
